About Fran

Fran among dandelionsFran worked as a professional photographer, writer and tutor for a little over a decade, in which time she travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles and saw her work published regularly in national magazines.

Today Fran teaches photography alongside her role leading the Sheffield Woodland Connections project, which delivers interpretative woodland walks with support from Sheffield City Council and other partners. Working closer to home, in and around Sheffield, is much more compatible with her chronic health conditions.

Having completed an MA in landscape architecture at the University of Sheffield, Fran combines academic knowledge with her intimate understanding of nature so that she can share its magic with others.  Whether that be through photography workshops, guided walks or sustainable gardening courses, Fran’s aim is to inspire people to appreciate the natural world, enjoy its benefits and preserve it for future generations.
