Description
Benbulbin, or Ben Bulben, is at the end of a upland plateau known as the Dartry Mountains. Benbulbin’s unusual shape come from glaciation of its limestone beds. The deep erosion scars afflicting the summit are visible over five kilometres away across the estuary from the vantage point of the Marram Grass (Ammophila arenaria) covered sand dunes at Streedagh Point, County Sligo.
