Description
On an early winter’s morning Castleton in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire is gently wrapped in a thinning layer of mist. The village itself is founded on limestone however, it is surrounded by sandstone and shale hills that mark the start of the Pennine mountain chain, and these help provide the ideal conditions to enable mist to form. Rounded Lose Hill is directly behind the village and Win Hill’s conical pike is visible on the horizon.
