Description
Rhobell Fawr in Gywnedd is an extinct volcano dating from the Ordovician period that stands somewhat separate from the other mountains and it offers expansive views of surrounding Snowdonia. The view west and out to sea is across the Rhinogydd mountains, which are formed from sedimentary rock that dates from the preceding Cambrian period.
