Description
Plume thistle (Cirsium rivulare ‘Atropurpureum’) is among the finest plants for a wildlife garden. It attracts: aphids, which feed ladybirds; bees: butterflies; and, when the flowers go to seed, goldfinches. It is related to other native Cirsiums that are considered some of the best plants for pollinators. Being sterile, it is does not self-seed everywhere like our native thistles.
