Description
Scott’s View above a tight bend in the River Tweed and looking across to the Eildon Hills, near Melrose in the Scottish Borders. Although the Eildon Hills look like mini volcanoes they were actually formed from magma that never reached the surface. Instead the molten rock was intruded into other rocks that have long since worn away to reveal three distinct peaks. Various strange stories are linked with this location, including that of Thomas the Rhymer, a local man that met the Elvish Queen and went to her kingdom under the hills for seven years.
