Silene dioica – red campion, my garden

SKU: N/A Categories: ,

Red campion (Silene dioica) can be a biennial or perennial herb and is an important plant for pollinators and other insects. In the wild it is found in open areas of woodland, hedgerows and grassy verges. Blooming from spring through to early autumn, its five-petalled pink flowers are distinguished by notches so deep that it looks like a ten-petalled flower.
