Description
Stinking hellebore (Helleborus foetidus) is certainly not the most beautiful of plants yet it bears green blooms, a rareity in the plant kingdom. It is also known for its slightly noxious odour, so is perhaps not an obvious choice for the garden. However, as UK native it deserves a place in the wildlife garden and will support more insects than many an introduced species. It flowers for months on end, usually from January to April, and is evergreen.
