Description

Bwa Gwyn, or the White Arch, is an impressive coastal feature near Rhoscolyn on Anglesey’s west coast.  The pale quartzite rocks were formed as a result of the partial metamorphosis of the original sandstone bedrock, the beeding of which can be seen tilted to a nearly vertical angle.  Holyhead Mountain can be seen on the far horizon and this formed from the same rock.
