Description
The cliffs that lie between West Bay and Burton Bradstock in Dorset are part of England’s internationally important Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This status has been awarded because of the areas outstanding geology and geomorphology. Burton Cliff is composed of Bridport Sand, topped in places with Inferior Oolite (oolitic limestone), which is rich in fossils, and seen as a line of pale boulders along the beach.
