Description
The Giant’s Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Northern Ireland’s most visited tourist attractions. The impressive basalt columns were formed as the runny magma erupted from volcanoes cooled at a slow and even pace, allowing regular joints to develop that later cracked. The most common geometric shape found here is the hexagon, although pentagons and heptagons are also present.
