Description
The Twelve Pins, or Twelve Bens, are a range of mountains at the heart of the Connemara National Park in Galway, Ireland. Beanna Beola (the Gaelic name) are formed from tough Dalradian era quartzite that stands high above a heavily glaciated landscape featuring many lochs, including Kylemore Lough. Beyond these peaks lies the slightly smaller Maumturk range, which is an extension of the same rocks. The highest point in the Twelve Pins is Benbaun at 729m.
