Description
Wood anemones (Anemone nemorosa) grow in woodland habitats, like here in Gillfield Wood, an ancient woodland on the western edge of Sheffield. Wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa) is a low-growing plant with variable flowers, ranging from five to seven petals. It is among the earliest spring flowers, appearing in March – April, and spreads out to form a carpet that thrives in light shade.
