Description
Steep-sided for their height, the Malvern Hills rise abruptly from the surrounding plain. The range includes 23 peaks that run in an approximately 12km chain aligned north-south along the Herefordshire and Worcestershire border. The highest of these is the Worcestershire Beacon, 425m and is seen here illuminated. The foreground is dominated by the Roman hillfort earthworks known as British Camp.
