Description
Silver birches (Betula pendula) are one of the key species to grow on sparsely vegetated Leash Fen in Northeast Derbyshire. As the rising sun shines through the thinning mist the moorland is bathed in soft-pink light, although it is not yet warm enough to melt the frost coating the moorland grasses.
