Description
Hengistbury Head, Dorset, is a spit of sand that extends into the English Channel. The cliff’s sedimentary rock layers are easily distinguished from one another because of the varying mineral content and the rust colour is from iron oxide. The area is a local Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest that has yielded interesting archaeological finds.
