Description
The moorland above Millstone Edge in Derbyshire is transformed every summer by a wonderful display of common heather (Calluna vulgaris) flowers. Silver birch (Betula pendula) is the typical tree species found here, where it thrives on the acidic sandy soil and can tolerate harsh weather conditions.
