Description
Large boulders of sandstone crowd the edge of Higger Tor and the smooth rock reflects the fading sunshine, taking on a pink glow. Across Hathersage Moor, Carl Wark rises as a narrow blade of rock in the near distance. Both flat-topped rocky hills are intrinsic landforms along the stretch of the Derbyshire / South Yorkshire border that lies within the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate.
