Description
Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) leaves are comprised of a number of leaflets arranged oppositely along the stem. The alternative name – mountain ash – recalls both the tree’s habitat and its resemblance to common ash (Fraxinus excelsior). Rowan differs from its namesake on account of the smaller leaflets that feature a serrated margin.
