Description

Dwarf comfrey (Symphytum grandiflorum) was introduced into cultivation from Turkey and Asia Minor. Surprisingly, for a dwarf, it is fairly tall, coming in at 40cm. It also has a habit of taking over where it likes the conditions, so is best grown in a container. It can be recognised by its red and white flowers, appearing from February onwards, which are much visited by early bees.
