Description
The long-lasting seed heads of Turkish sage (Phlomis russelliana) make up for the relatively short-lived flowers. From late autumn onwards the dead stems make a strong statement: decaying vegetation is not merely to be tolerated for its wildlife benefit but actually celebrated in its own right.
