Description
Chesil Beach is a shingle bar that extends for 29km, connecting The Isle of Portland with mainland Dorset. At 200m wide and 15m high it also encloses The Fleet, a tidal lagoon that is an important wildlife site. The whole beach is part of England’s internationally important Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
