Description
Golden shield fern (Dryopteris affinis) is a semi-evergreen fern that is native to British woodlands and grows well in the shade of the ash in my garden in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. In spring it is easily recognised by the yellow-green colour of emerging leaves.
