Description
The pre-flowering form of Turkish sage (Phlomis russeliana), a tall and stately plant with tiered whorls of flowers arranged around the stem. Originating in Turkey and Syria, it prefers full sunshine but will also tolerate some shade. In my garden it grows at the back of a border under the dappled-shade of a large ash tree.
